Today’s Daily Hormone Horoscope: Monday, August 29, 2011

My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You may get the urge to take care of all those little things you put aside in the last week of your cycle, like the dirty laundry, file organizing and pet bathing. That’s because rising estrogen and testosterone are igniting your energy and motivation, making it seem easier to tackle all these to-dos!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You’ll likely be standing up straighter, smiling wider, talking louder and gesturing a lot more. The reason? Whether you realize it or not, high estrogen and testosterone are pumping up your confidence and energy, which come across in all you say and do!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: You’re the opposite of Week 2 gals: You’re probably hunching, don’t show much if any teeth when you smile, are speaking more quietly and not gesturing much today. That’s because you’re feeling less self-assured and more lethargic as estrogen and testosterone dip and sedating progesterone rises.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: You may find it difficult to put your nose to the grindstone and focus on a task today as plunging estrogen and testosterone put a damper on your powers of concentration. To help you stay on course, take frequent short breaks. Sounds counterintuitive, but several new studies show that checking Facebook, reading news stories or doing other short activities then resuming your task helps replenish your mental energy so you’re more likely to complete it!
