My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: People may have annoyed you a few days ago during your premenstrual Week 4. But, once you’re past the crampy, achey part of this week, rising estrogen has you feeling more positive about your honey, family, friends, fellow students and coworkers. You may even have a complete change of heart about folks you were sure you kicked out of your life for good.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You’re saying more positive words and phrases today, such as “enjoy”, “love”, “great” and “no problem”, and pressing the “Like” button on Facebook more often today. You’re also smiling more, gesticulating a lot and using friendlier body language, for instance, touching someone’s arm or back when you talk with them. Why? High estrogen is boosting your mood, optimism and desire to connect with others.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Minor irritations about your home that you ignored the last two weeks—like the leaking faucet, peeling paint or mismatched sofa pillows—start to irk you this week. Why? Lower levels of estrogen make you less patient with little problems and rising progesterone is making you focus more on matters concerning your home.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: You may end up hunting around for your keys, forget the name of a neighbor who’s lived next door to you for years or be stumped for facts and figures you knew down pat during the first half of your cycle. The reason for the brain fog? Plunging estrogen and testosterone. As they descend, they bring down your powers of recall, making it difficult to remember the easiest stuff.
