Which week are you on in your cycle?
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You may feel a bit of panic when you realize that the summer is officially half over. Estrogen is a hormone that wants you to have lots of fun as it rises, so you may get worried that you’re running out of time to do all the activities you wanted to fit in before September rolls around.
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You may be tempted to call in sick to work, school or other obligations today. High estrogen is making you easily bored with a hum-drum Monday routine, and high testosterone is making you impulsive and confident enough to try your acting chops as you try to convince whoever’s expecting you that you’re too sick to show up and you absolutely, definitely, 100% will not be playing hooky at an amusement park or beachside lounge.
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Sure, it’s a Monday, but rising progesterone has you enjoying the comfort of returning to a predictable schedule and routine.
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Try avoid making drastic permanent or semi-permanent changes today, such as cutting 10 inches off your hair, getting a tattoo, ditching your partner or quitting school or your job. Plunging estrogen and testosterone bring down you patience and make you prone to making rash decisions without thinking through the long-term consequences.
