My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: Making a love connection is front and center in your mind as rising estrogen pushes you to flirt up a storm and rising testosterone urges you to get intimate. Want to ratchet up your sex drive some more just for fun? Drink coffee! A recent study shows that caffeine is like “female Viagra” thanks to its ability to ramp up a woman’s libido!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You may astound friends and family with the seemingly endless to-do list you’ve made for yourself! High estrogen and testosterone are pumping you full of energy and making you feel optimistic that you can tackle a thousand tasks and still have time to bake a chocolate souffle from scratch!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Cue the tears: It’s probably apparent by now that the high energy, supersized libido, killer memory, sharp wit and bouyant optimism you enjoyed during the first half of your cycle has been replaced with fatigue, a low sex drive, mental fogginess and a more realistic outlook. Blame goes to lower levels of estrogen coupled with rising progesterone. But fret not: The second half of your cycle has its benefits, too! That’s because it gives you a chance to sit back and reflect on past decisions and their outcomes, which helps you make sure you’re still on the right course, it prompts you to relax, which helps you recharge after all those high-hormone days of running around, and it slows you down, which gives you a chance to enjoy the subtler things in life, like your first sip of coffee or the warm rays of sunshine on your skin.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Plunging estrogen turns you into less of a people-person today as it makes everyone’s most annoying characteristics far more prominent. As a result, you may be craving a little alone time to watch a movie, read a book, eat your lunch, practice guitar, exercise or just do some work without being interrupted. And you may wonder (aloud and loudly) why some people simply can’t respect your need for space.
