My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: Whether you’re happily hitched or a swinging single, you’ve got a roving eye today as rising testosterone amps up your libido and rising estrogen has you wanting to make a love connection. As a result, you’ll be noticing more cuties where ever you go: the coffee shop, mall, even just walking down the street.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: High estrogen and testosterone may make you feel antsy and give you excess energy that you let out by talking (a whole heck of a lot), singing (in all the wrong places), doing nervous habits (bye-bye, fingernails), starting an impromptu game of tag (and tagging everyone within sight, even those who haven’t agreed to play) and challenging burly guys to arm wrestles in bars (hint: do not bet your rent money). Need to calm down this frenetic feeling? Sip chamomile tea, which contains compounds that make you more relaxed.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Unlike Week 2 gals, you’re going to be sapped of pep due to rising progesterone and lower estrogen and testosterone. This could make relatively small tasks, like going to the supermarket, putting the dishes away or simply getting up out of your chair, seem like a monumental effort.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Oooh, girl, I would not want to be in your line of sight today: You’re more prone to being critical of what other people say, wear and do! Blame goes to plunging estrogen and testosterone, which makes your outlook more negative and drains your patience with others. Want to preserve your angelic side and avoid criticizing folks for no good reason? Try imagining the life struggles these potential targets are facing, for instance, maybe the woman in the mismatched outfit ran out of quarters for the laundry and has to wait till payday to wash her clothes or the guy who inadvertently cut you off in line at the store just heard bad news about a friend and so didn’t even see you when he got in line. I know, not as fun as making a snarky comment, but you’ll avoid the plunging estrogen regret that comes after making a snide remark, then finding out the person’s circumstances.
