My HormonologyWhich week are you on in your monthly cycle? Find out what it reveals about what your day has in store:

Week 1
Day 1 (first day of period) to Day 7
Estrogen and testosterone rise

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: Your energy makes a slow, slow climb during Week 1 of your cycle: If you’re in the first half of this week, low estrogen combined with iron loss due to bleeding may have you feeling sapped. If you’re in second half of this week, however, higher levels of estrogen combined with the end of menstruation will typically have you feeling more energized and alert!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 14 (or ovulation)
Estrogen and testosterone rise till they peak

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: If all is right with your health and stress levels and you don’t have any sedating medications to deal with, then Week 2 of your cycle is when energy soars thanks to peaking estrogen and testosterone! Use this week’s massive energy burst to get through your to-do list, launch a new project or take a fun trip to go zip lining or hiking or enjoy another physical feat!

Week 3
Day 15 (or the day after ovulation) to Day 22
Progesterone rises; estrogen and testosterone drop for half the week, then rise again
Today’s Hormone Horoscope: You’re going to feel thisclose to a nap all this week as sedating, brain-fogging progesterone rises and estrogen and testosterone dip. But, even more tiring, during the first half of this week, it could be difficult to get deep, restorative sleep at night. That’s because estrogen plunges and, if you’re sensitive to this hormonal dip, it can trigger insomnia. Luckily, by the second half of this week, estrogen rises again, which, when combined with tiring progesterone, makes you likely to sleep like a log.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of your cycle
Estrogen, testosterone and progesterone plunge

Today’s Hormone Horoscope: Some good news: Progesterone levels are plunging, so that sleepy brain fog you experienced all throughout Week 3 tends to dissipate. Unfortunately, estrogen drops like a rock, too, which means your energy is still on the low side.
