Today’s Daily Hormone Horoscope: Friday, March 11, 2011

My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You may be toying with the idea of taking on a leadership role, for instance, by running for some kind of office, volunteering to head up a project or forming a social group. Why? Rising testosterone boosts your desire to be top dog and gives you confidence that you can call the shots.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You’re more likely to gamble, drink, smoke, play practical jokes and do any of the other usual baddies today. Blame for your naughtiness goes to high estrogen and testosterone, which ramp up your derring-do and desire for excitement. Plus, they’re making anything that usually feels good feel even better by pumping up brain chemicals that give you a euphoric buzz!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: During the first half of your cycle, rising estrogen had you preferring confident, athletic hotties with chiseled jawlines and a gruff attitude. The second half of your cycle is a whole different story. Lower levels of estrogen have you drawn toward sensitive, self-effacing sweeties who pride themselves on their ability to bake, garden and attend every comic-con ever.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Week 1 and Week 2 was full of energy and motivation. This week? Not so much. As estrogen and testosterone plunge, they bring down pep and momentum, making it harder to find the inspiration to work, clean or study. You will, however, be able to shop, eat ice cream and watch TV with the greatest of ease.
