My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: Even if you’re bothered by menstrual-related aches and pains, it’s likely that your mood is less see-sawy and your outlook is much better than it was during Week 4 of your cycle. Thanks goes to rising estrogen and testosterone, which pump up feel-good chemicals in the brain as they climb. And, lucky you, these hormones climb all the way through the end of Week 2 and they up your mood and outlook even more as they rise!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: Today is about big ideas and grand plans! You may decide to change careers, move to a new town, pick up a new hobby or make a drastic change to your appearance. The reason? High estrogen and testosterone are making you easily excited by the prospect of trying something different!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: You may get a serious case of the blahs today. While you were easily excited due to rising estrogen and testosterone in the first two weeks of your cycle, these hormones are on the downswing and rising progesterone, a sedating hormone, makes it difficult to muster that kind of enthusiasm. As a result, you may get bored with tasks or find it hard to get interested in a project or conversation.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Try to keep your eyes peeled for opportunities today. Plunging estrogen gives you the tendency to see the negative side of things and think cynically, which could lead you to turn down the chance to meet someone new or do something different. Thing is, research shows that opening yourself to new experiences is one of the top ways people hear about new jobs and lucky breaks!
