My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You’re more willing to overlook the faults of your current sweetie or the hottie you’re interested in. The reason? As estrogen rises, it boosts feel-good brain chemicals that help you focus on what’s right about the object of your affection and minimize what’s wrong.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: Don’t be surprised if you end up yelling at the TV, complaining to the manager about a rude waitress, telling someone who cut in front of you to get to the back of the line or confront anyone else who’s ticking you off. While premenstrual Week 4 is infamous for its heavy volume of complaints from you, truth is, you can get pretty boisterous in Week 2 as high estrogen makes you more quick to stress out and pumps up your verbal velocity and high testosterone makes you bold and impulsive. Together, this is a finger-z’ing, head wiggling combo if there ever was one.

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Rising progesterone is doing the food ordering today. And what it wants is creamy, gooey, crunchy, yummy sinful treats. On a diet? Then indulge your palate in creamy low-fat yogurt with fresh fruit, a gooey low-fat cheesy burrito, crunchy low-fat granola or all-natural sorbet. You’ll satisfy your cravings while avoiding lots of fat and extra calories.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: With your powers of concentration on the downswing as estrogen and testosterone plunge, you may want to take extra precautions to avoid distractions while working if you want to get anything done before the weekend, for instance, turn off your text message and email alerts, turn off your phone’s ringer and hang a “do not disturb” sign on your door or chair.
