My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: Things take a turn for the purse today. You’re spending like it’s your job even if you don’t have the money to cover the bills. Blame goes to rising testosterone, which makes you far more impulsive. And stores just love this hormonal effect since most of their marketing money goes toward triggering impulse buys!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You’re likely to be on the hunt for love this weekend no matter where you end up, like a book fair, work conference or even a meditation class. You can’t help it: Your sky-high estrogen is pushing you to take a look around for a new partner (even if you already have one!) and your equally sky-high testosterone is amping up your libido, making you want to get physical!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: If you’ve ever lost track of where you are in your cycle, here’s an easy way to figure it out: If you go from energetic, outgoing, social and sexually adventurous to tired, introverted, shy and a low libido, you’ve officially entered your Week 3. The second half of your cycle is the opposite of the first half. That’s because estrogen and testosterone are on the rise during Weeks 1 & 2 while they’re on the downswing during Weeks 3 & 4. You also have sedating, libido-quashing progesterone to deal with during the second half of your cycle, giving you a double-whammy. This doesn’t mean it’s all bad news though. While the first half of your cycle is built for fun and adventure, the second half is perfect for recuperating, renewing your energy and pondering your next move.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Pain and discomfort will be greater today due to plunging estrogen, which takes down pain-masking endorphins as it descends. Luckily, you can easily avoid unnecessary aches by wearing comfortable clothes, avoiding an overly strenuous workout and skipping the extra cocktail.
