Today’s Daily Hormone Horoscope: Friday, July 15, 2011

My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: Good luck trying to think about anything but the cutie in the library, the hottie in the cafe and the double-yummy who passed you on the street. Rising testosterone is setting your libido on fire, making you want to make a love (or at least lust) connection!

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: You’re going to be encroaching on other people’s personal space today and get the urge to say things you probably shouldn’t as high estrogen has you overlooking personal boundaries in favor of getting up-close-and-personal and telling it like it is. And, it probably goes without saying that this effect is doubled if alcohol is involved!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: You’ll probably find yourself getting lost in daydreams today as rising progesterone slows your thinking and has your brain going on auto-pilot more frequently than in the past two weeks. Luckily, research shows you can still get a lot of work done while daydreaming. Turns out, when you let your thoughts wander, your brain connects different ideas together to help you come up with creative solutions to nagging problems.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Not much is getting past you today. As estrogen and testosterone plunge, they make you look at things more critically. And that’s a good thing, since it means you’re better able to pick up on subtle body signals, see through a fast-talking salesperson and know when something looks too good to be true.
