Today’s Daily Hormone Horoscope: Friday, February 25, 2011

My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You may notice that a love interest you thought you were totally over in Week 4 of your cycle is suddenly piquing your interest again. That’s because rising estrogen is boosting your optimism, which is clouding all the bad stuff about your hottie and making you focus only on the good stuff.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: High estrogen and testosterone are making you feel more independent than any other week of your cycle. As a result, you’re more likely to spearhead projects, head to a restaurant on your own if no one’s available to join you or go it alone to a singles event even if your friends chicken out!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Sad news or negative events may make you weepier or more upset today than you would have been during the first half of your cycle. Why? Lower levels of estrogen and rising progesterone are amping up your emotional side and making your more likely to empathize with others.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Help out a friend who you think is having the wool pulled over his or her eyes, for example, by a dentist who says she needs extensive and expensive dental work (coincidentally at the same time the dentist just closed on a new condo) or by a pushy home security salesperson who’s convincing him to drop thousands on a new security system when you know competitors cost a fraction of the price. Plunging estrogen is making you see the world a lot more clearly, which makes it harder for people to dupe you into believing their hype.
