My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You’re open to experimenting today as rising estrogen piques your curiosity. But, this hormone may not climb high enough to actually push you into trying something totally different. So, you’ll likely be happiest with new twists on old themes, for instance, switching the kind of syrup you pour on your favorite waffles or trying a different color of your favorite lipstick brand.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: Watch your wallet today: High testosterone makes you impulsive and high estrogen makes you feel as if you have money to burn, so you may end up over-tipping at lunch (18% is still generous), doling out dollars for those sketchy-looking donation boxes at the gas station (it’s best to send your donations straight to the organizations) or splurging on a $15 nail polish (truth is, most nail polish companies get their color mixes from the same factories, so a less expensive version will look just as smashing).

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Add in a little wiggle room when planning your schedule today and all during Week 3. Rising progesterone is sapping your momentum, which slows you down. As a result, you could end up late for important meetings, classes and appointments if you don’t allow time for dawdling.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: Holiday music piped into stores seems annoying louder. Smells from vending carts seem stinkier. And the people around you seem to have a lot more elbows and toes that jab you at every turn. No, the world hasn’t suddenly become a whole lot worse. It’s just plunging estrogen, which is making you more sensitive to sounds, smells and pain than during other weeks of your cycle.
