My HormonologyWhich week are you on
in your monthy cycle?
Find out what it reveals about
what your day has in store:

Week 1
First day of period to Day 7
Today’s hormonescope: You get more and more playful, friendly and jokey as Week 1 goes on. Friends may even comment on the difference between your mood this week compared to when you were in Week 4 of your cycle. Credit for the jovial feelings goes directly to rising estrogen, which raises feel-good brain chemicals that help you take things less seriously than you did last week.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 13
Today’s hormonescope: Current romantic partners may get a little jealous today as high estrogen gives you the urge to flirt with other hotties. Not involved? Then you’ve got hooking up on your mind today as high estrogen pushes you to connect on an emotional level and high testosterone pushes you to connect on a physical one!

Week 3
Day 14 (or ovulation) to Day 22
Today’s hormonescope: Decisions about home, work, your relationship, shopping or other issues that seemed so urgent to make last week may not seem nearly as urgent to make this week. In fact, you may choose not to make any decision at all! Why the change? Your hormones, of course! Last week, high estrogen and testosterone made you impulsive and easily excited, which made it feel like the world would collapse if you didn’t make a definite choice and act on it right away. This week things have changed: Estrogen and testosterone dip to lower levels and sedating progesterone rises. Together, this combination makes you feel less panicky and more subdued, which makes you feel that issues will work themselves out or that you have more time to come up with the right answer.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Today’s hormonescope: You may feel like you’re coming down with a cold, have a mysterious ache or suddenly get another unexplained symptom. Chances are, your problem is just plunging estrogen, which can trigger discomfort or make you more sensitive to allergens, stress or other symptom-triggers.
