Week 1

Week 2

Estrogen and testosterone rise till they peak
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: If you can, try to avoid hogging the spotlight today. Your high Week 2 estrogen is making you super-chatty, bold, flirtatious, confident and a little braggy. So, you’re more likely to commandeer conversations and steer the attention of others toward yourself. Just remember that other folks may also want a little attention themselves–and may get a little resentful if you glom it all.

Week 3
Day 15 (or the day after ovulation) to Day 22
Progesterone rises; estrogen and testosterone drop for half the week, then estrogen rises again
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: Compared to your Week 2, you may find it difficult to brainstorm great ideas or feel that your creativity is a bit sapped. The problem is that the combination of rising progesterone and dipping estrogen is slowing down your thinking skills while also making you more critical of ideas you have, which can curb how many more you come up with. Luckily, knowing this can actually help you generate more ideas. That’s because you can compensate by revving your thinking skills, for instance, by going for a brisk walk, listening to up-tempo music or drinking a caffeinated beverage. And then you can try to avoid criticizing any idea you come up with–no matter how crazy. Chances are, you’ll find this helps you come up with fresh, innovative concepts that surprise even you!

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Estrogen and progesterone plunge
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: You may daydream about doing something different with your life, say, switching jobs, quitting school or moving to a different town. That’s because plunging estrogen is prompting changes in your brain that can make you feel less satisfied with what you’re doing now, making you wonder if something better is out there.
