Hormonology uses hundreds of scientific studies to show you how your hormones impact you in virtually every way every day of your monthly cycle. My HormonologyWhich week are you on in your monthly cycle? Find out what it reveals about what your day has in store:

Week 1
Day 1 (first day of period) to Day 7
Estrogen rises
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: You may try new ways of doing things, say, taking a photo with your camera in a new way or adding a new ingredient to your cocoa. Credit for your willingness to experiment goes to rising estrogen, which pumps up your mood, creativity and optimism, making you curious about how things will turn out if you did them differently.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 14 or ovulation (here’s how to tell when you’re ovulating)
Estrogen and testosterone rise till they peak
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: You’re going to be the loudest, laughiest member of your group today thanks to high estrogen, which prompts you to hog the spotlight and make the most out of social situations. And if friends aren’t around to hang with today, chances are, you’ll find a way to at least be close to other people, say, by heading to a coffee shop to try a festive-themed hot beverage or doing some holiday shopping. That’s because this same hormone makes you enjoy the company of others, even if it’s just being in close proximity to them.

Week 3
Day 15 (or the day after ovulation) to Day 22
Progesterone rises; estrogen and testosterone drop for half the week, then estrogen rises again
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: Chances are, you’re wearing more subdued colors, baggier clothes and fewer accessories than you did in your Week 2. The reason? When estrogen was high in the last week of your cycle, it pushed you to show off your physical attributes and call attention to yourself. This week, that hormone dips while sedating progesterone rises–a combination that has you less confident in look-at-me outfits and more comfortable fading into the background.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Estrogen and progesterone plunge
This weekend’s Hormone Horoscope: Whether you’re trying to stick to a diet, budget or other kind of resolution, you may find it’s more difficult not to slip up today. The problem is that plunging estrogen is sapping your willpower, making you require more effort, mind tricks and support from others to keep at it. Luckily, by knowing this beforehand, you can set up your day to avoid pitfalls that weaken your resolve, for example, by clearing the cupboards of junk food or asking a friend to hide your credit cards.
