Hormonology uses hundreds of scientific studies to show you how your hormones impact you in virtually every way every day of your monthly cycle. The Hormone Horoscope is a nifty little way of dispensing this information daily. To get started, find the week you’re on in your monthly cycle (you can use this easy guide if you’re not sure), then read your Hormone Horoscope for today!

My HormonologyWhich week are you on in your monthly cycle? Find out what it reveals about what your day has in store:

Week 1
Day 1 (first day of period) to Day 7
Estrogen rises
Today’s Hormone Horoscope: You may get the urge to make an appointment with your hairdresser, go clothes shopping or try a new look with your makeup. That’s rising estrogen’s influence. As the level of this hormone climbs, it triggers the desire to enhance your appearance in anticipation of being more social and flirtatious during your Week 1 and Week 2.

Week 2
Day 8 to Day 14 or ovulation (here’s how to tell when you’re ovulating)
Estrogen and testosterone rise till they peak
Today’s Hormone Horoscope: If you have a favor you’d like to ask someone or need someone to adopt your point of view, approach the person about the topic today. Thanks to Week 2 high estrogen and testosterone ratcheting up your memory, verbal ability and charm, your powers of persuasion are peaking!

Week 3
Day 15 (or the day after ovulation) to Day 22
Progesterone rises; estrogen and testosterone drop for half the week, then estrogen rises again
Today’s Hormone Horoscope: Try to avoid processed foods, fast food and other junky-junk foods. Rising progesterone is already prompting bloating, constipation and gas. Adding foods that are difficult to digest to this mix is just a recipe for discomfort.

Week 4
Day 23 to the end of cycle
Estrogen and progesterone plunge
Today’s Hormone Horoscope: When shopping, you may get the urge to buy generic-brand items over name brands, clip coupons, pick the no-frills version of a product or keep expenses down in other ways. That’s because plunging estrogen is highlighting money worries and making you more aware of financial constraints, so sticking to a budget seems more important.
